YFD Succeeds at the Metro Zone Meet& Coach Emily named Metro All Star Zone Coach
The YFD swimmers continue their excellent tradition this year at the 2012 Metropolitan Zone Qualifier Meet.
Leading the way Emily Weiss broke three team records (50 Breast 35.40 - 100 breast 1:19.69 - 100 IM 1:13.81) and qualified to represent the All Star Metro Zone Team in the 50 breast and 100 breast (9-10 Girls Age Group). Both her events are currently ranked top 3 in Metro and her 50 breast is top 11th in the nation. Outstanding Emily!
Maya Milrod also had a great meet posting a Metro Top 10 swim in the 100 fly with a time of 1:13.62 and finishing 6th over all.
Jessica Lipton swam to an impressive 2:16.46 in the 200 fly finishing 3rd over all. She also had a lifetime best in her 500 free with a time of 5:28.51.
Emily Fennell posted two lifetime best times and earned second swims in finals finishing 5th over all in the 50 back 31.17, and 7th in the 200 back with a time of 2:22.92.
Alec Kahn also had fantastic meet earning two second swims in finals both in the 200 Breast finishing 7th over all with a lifetime best 2:38.11 and the 100 breast finishing 8th over all with another lifetime best 1:13.45.
Carly Fried moved up to 5th in the metro top 10 ranking in the 100 breast and qualified for the All Star Metro Zone Team with a time of 1:08.98
Blake posted a lifetime best in his 50 breast with a time of 35.25 finishing 16th over all.
Jessica Weiss swam to a 16th place in the 200 breast with a time of 2:43.79 and 19th place in the 100 breast with a time of 1:15.10.
Skye Barclay swam to seasonal best time in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.02.

Emily has been named All Star Zone Team Coach for the 2012 Short Course Eastern zone Championships. She will be coaching Metro’s All Star Zone Team (9-10 Age Group Girls) and the meet will be held March 29-31, 2012 at Webster (Rochester NY).
