Coaches and Directors
With over two decades of experience, Amine Boubsis has been
the driving force behind the transformation of YFD Club into
one of New York City’s premier competitive swim programs.
When he took the helm in 2012, YFD was one of the smallest clubs in
the city. Under his leadership, it has grown by over 300%, becoming
the largest swim club in New York City by membership. This
extraordinary growth reflects not only strategic vision and
operational excellence but also a commitment to building a
high-performance culture rooted in excellence, puporse, and
community.
Under his leadership, YFD has become a consistent producer of
high-performing athletes—ranging from Junior Olympic
Champions to National and International-Level Competitors and
Medalists. The program has also seen a steady rise in
College-Bound swimmers, continuing their athletic and academic
journeys at top universities. These successes reflect the strong
culture and structure Amine has built in close partnership with a
talented coaching staff and dedicated families.
A hallmark of his leadership is the integration of athletic
performance with character development. At YFD, Amine has
championed a holistic approach that prioritizes academic success,
personal growth, and community engagement—ensuring that
success in the pool reflects a broader commitment to developing
well-rounded individuals.
Amine’s foundation in the sport began as a youth, competing at the international level for the Moroccan Youth National Team. As a young swimmer, he earned multiple national medals and placed 7th in the 100m breaststroke at the 2003 African Championships. These early experiences instilled in him a competitive spirit and global perspective that continue to shape his work today.
Academically, Amine earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Touro University, which provided a strong foundation for the strategic and operational growth of YFD. He has continued to expand his knowledge through certifications in business, finance, and investement analysis bringing a focused, business-minded approach to building and leading a high-performing sports organization.
Amine has also contributed to the sport beyond the club level. He has served multiple terms on the Metropolitan Swimming Board of Directors, reinforcing his role as a thought leader in the sport's governance.

Tim, a true New Yorker, born and raised by the water's edge, has always had an unquenchable affinity for aquatic environments. His lifelong connection with water began in his early childhood, and even today, he's content settling for the East River in the heart of the city.
From a young age, Tim ventured into competitive swimming, participating in both the Metropolitan and PSAL leagues, with a special focus on excelling in Breaststroke events. With over a decade of experience as a competitive swimmer, he trained in the United States and South Korea, honing his aquatic skills.
Upon reaching college, Tim decided to shift his focus from being an athlete to exploring the world of fashion apparel and technologies. His journey led him to collaborate with notable designers such as jewelry maestro Martine Ali. Tim's expertise now lies in creating avant-garde designs and crafting ocean-inspired jewelry using high-grade pearls and shells. He consistently challenges the conventions associated with luxury high-end fashion.
Yet, even after retiring as an athlete, his passion for the water persisted. Tim has been involved in aquatics since his teenage years and continues to do so to this day. He has taken on various roles, from lifeguarding and pool management to swim instruction. Currently, he proudly serves as the AG1 lead coach, marking his third year in this role.
With extensive experience as a water safety instructor for individuals of all ages, Tim is directly engaged in the 92NY swim program, where he plays a pivotal role in nurturing and developing the talent of future YFD athletes. To him, swimming transcends being just a sport; it offers more than health and success. The ability to comprehend and manipulate water imparts values, discipline, and life lessons that are truly unparalleled.
Whether he's at the poolside or on a high-fashion runway, Tim's work is a testament to his unwavering connection with water and swimming. In essence, he is, and will always be, the "pool boy."
