CHASTAIN PARK TIDAL WAVES SWIM TEAM: 8 Time ASA League Champions
Welcome to the Tidal Waves Summer Swim Team. Summer swim team is great fun for experienced and new swimmers. Registration is open and we hope you’ll join us. For a snapshot of last year’s fun see the team’s Instagram page @chastainparktidalwaves

All Swimmers must register with Chastain and ASA to compete
Swimmers may attend as many or as few practices as they choose
You do not need to notify Coach Carter if you will not be at practice
Any swimmer that is a distraction during practice and not following instructions will be removed from the water for a period of time and sit on the pool deck. A distraction to the coach or other swimmers is at the very least a matter of safety.
Suit fitting for athletes: May 12 and 13 4:00-6:00 at the pool. If you cannt be there please contact Ethan Wolovick at [email protected]
-We are strongly encouraging kids to have / buy fins for their feet this season which will be avaliable at the fitting

-Practice M,T,W,TH, and F afternoons May 12th - May 23rd (Before Memorial Day)
8 yrs & under: 4:00 – 4:40
9 - 10: 4:40 – 5:30
11 & up 5:30 - 6:30
-Practices M, T, TH and F mornings After Memorial Day (No practice the morning after a meet)
8 yrs & under: 9:20 – 10:00
9 - 10: 10:00 - 10:50
11 & up 10:50 - 11:50
-Practices M, W, TH and F afternoons After Memorial Day
8 yrs & under: 3:00 - 3:40
9 - 10: 3:40 - 4:30
11 & up 4:30 - 5:30
-Please arrive at least 5 mins before scheduled practice time and assemble at the far end of the bleachers.
-During practice no parents are allowed on the bulkheads without permission from Coach Carter
-If your child refuses to get in the water the coaches have been instructed to coach the kids that are in the water. We cannot spend time coaxing a child in because the other children are being ignored and it is also a safety issue.
-Inclement weather
-We will do our best to get the word out via the website, text and email if we have to cancel practice due to weather. Please call the pool if you are not sure about the weather.
Meets (All DUAL meets start at 5:30 please arrive at 4:00 for check-in and warm-ups)
-You Must Sign Up for meets BY NOON THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE MEET on the Swimtopia APP: Please your child sign UP on the website as soon as possible. IF YOU DO NOT SIGN UP YOUR CHILD, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE PUT IN THE MEET!!!!!!!!!
-Swimmers can swim a Maximum of 4 events (2 individual events and 2 relays) during the meet. Some kids may not be able to swim 4 events but we do our best.
-You may request events on the APP (we encourage that) but we reserve the right to change events for swimmers.

DIVISIONAL MEET: At Georgia Tech
June 25, 26 or 27th session TBD. The arrival time for all swimmers is TBD, but to help with your planning, please hold the whole afternoon. In previous years our team has been asked to report to the deck as early as 1pm
*Any swimmer who wants to can swim in the divisional meet as there are no time qualifications. You may request events (Although we reserve the right to put a swimmer where we think they might help the team most). There is a separate fee for this meet. More information will be released later in the season.
End of the season awards banquet: Tentatively Evening of June 27th (Time TBD) at the pool
Volunteers: We need many volunteers for meets so please be willing to help out during meets. WITHOUT VOLUNTEERS FOR MEETS WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN MEETS AS IT TAKES AN ARMY!
