OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2025

Terri Clark

Hello Officials,

I hope you're enjoying your time away from the pool! As we prepare for the upcoming Short Course season, I wanted to make you aware of some upcoming dates and changes to the LSC's protocol for certifying officials. The Officials Committee has made some adjustments to better align with the national certification standards.

We will move away from LSC Evaluators to a Certifier, which is an official designated by the LSC OC to certify that training is complete and to record it in the Officials Tracking System (OTS). This means that you will no longer need to be evaluated by an evaluator but will simply need to complete the requirements.

When seeking advancement, please ask yourself if you are ready to be on your own and officiate in the position you're seeking advancement in. The R-9 legislation sets minimum standards, but you can certainly complete more sessions. The goal is to be the best official you can be, and that will take time and practice.

To keep the lines of communication open and centralized, a new email address has been created. Going forward, we are asking that you send all officiating questions and issues to the email address listed below:

[email protected]

This way, all committee members will have access, and the response time should be better. This is a perfect time for you to check your credentials and make sure you are up-to-date.

We will come together collectively as a group immediately following the HOD meeting on October 12, 2025. The HOD meeting will start at 10:00 AM. The committee wants feedback from you. Please send any topics you feel we should discuss to [email protected] no later than September 15, 2025, close of business.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon!!!!
