Coach Blackwell’s philosophy about swimming is finding the proper balance between technique, endurance and strength. He believes educating his swimmers about the methods and science of swimming is just as important as the execution. Lisa Wilson Assistant Coach

Coach Lisa is enthusiastic as she begins her 5th year with SVSC. In the beginning of her years with SVSC, she organized and ran the Learn to Swim Program. She has since continued to help grow the program each year. After a few years, she wanted to contribute more to the club and began to help out  during swim practices. Through time and learning from her fellow coaches, Coach Lisa began her role as Assistant Coach. In early 2019, she helped coach SVSC swimmers at the Eastern Zone Short Course Age Group Championship.  Later in the fall of 2019, Coach Lisa became one of the Assistant Coaches for the Seneca Valley Varsity Swimming and Diving Team. She was excited to contribute to her first WPIAL and PIAA swim championships as a coach and witness some great swims by the SV swimmers.

Coach Lisa started swimming at the age of 8 with the Butler Y Swim Team and competed at the Y Districts and States meets through the years. In her high school years, she became a member of the Butler Varsity Swimming and Diving Team and competed at the WPIAL Championship meet. In her early years of swimming, Coach Lisa was a sprint freestyler. It wasn't until her later high school years that she competed in both breaststroke and I.M. events. During summers home from college, she taught private and group swim lessons at the Butler Country Club. She also was an Assistant Swim Coach for the Butler Country Club Swim Team. Coach Lisa graduated from Slippery Rock in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. The same year she graduated from Duquesne University with a Paralegal Certificate. She worked as a Paralegal for law firms in Pittsburgh and Erie for 6 years.

Coach Lisa is married and has one daughter and two sons. All 3 of her children were a part of the SVSC Learn to Swim Program. Her daughter developed the same love of swimming and continues to grow as a swimmer with the swim club.

Coach Lisa recently obtained Level 2 coaching status with the American Swimming Coaches Association. She is very excited to take what she has learned and help swimmers progress through the SVSC Learn to Swim Program and the Seneca Valley Swim Club!

Kylie Swann Assistant Coach

Kylie began swimming at the age of 5 and started competitively swimming at the age of 10. Because of her love for the sport, she started staying after practices to help out as a “Junior Coach” and started to work her way into the coaching side of swimming. In 2018, she graduated to an Assistant Coach for Forest Hill Swim Club in Maryland and has enjoyed watching the team grow and change over the past five years.

Kylie started competitively swimming with Greater Baltimore Swim Association at 10 years old and had no idea where the sport would take her. From middle school into high school, she spent three years of my swimming career with Aloha Aquatics in Oahu, Hawaii, and later attended Grove City College where she was a member of the varsity team for two years. While at GCC she was fortunatel to experience winning the PAC Championships two years in a row. Kylie specilized in sprint Freestyle, Fly and Backstroke. Her favorite events included the 100 Back, 200 Back, and 200 IM.

Currently, Kylie is in her senior year of college, attending the University of Maryland online, and studying Graphic Design and Art. She plans to further her coaching experience and career this next year, and help the swimmers at SVSC progress within the sport and grow in their love of swimming.

Zach Liebman Assistant Coach

Coach Zach is incredibly excited to begin his first year with SVSV. Although new to coaching swim, Coach Zach is not a stranger to coaching or the pool and is looking forward to merging his previous experience in coaching with the goals of his fellow coaches at SVSC.

Coach Zach started swimming at a very young age with North Hills Aquatics then moved in to become a 3 time letterman for Central Catholic’s Swim Team. His swim career was cut short of his senior year due to a second torn ACL and Meniscus playing football. Coach Zach was a sprint freestyler, butterflier, and backstroker, swimming both individual events and providing the backstroke leg of the 200 and 400 medley relay and leading the 200 and 400 freestyle relay.

Coach Zach graduated from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services administration and a minor in organizational leadership. The same year she graduated from Duquesne University with a Paralegal Certificate. He has worked in various areas of Supply Chain and materials management over the last 14 years and is currently a Supply Chain Manager for Q2 Lab Solutions.

Coach Zach is married and has one daughter and one son. Just his daughter has gone the path of swimming and has been a member of SVSC for 4 years and now also swims for SV’s varsity team.

Coach Zach plans to continue to obtain higher coaching status and would like to be involved with SVSC for many years to come. He hopes to help all swimmers recognize their full potential in both life and the pool and wants nothing more than to see every athlete succeed in whatever they do!
