PA Western District Re-Cap
Congratulations to the 23 swimmers who competed at the District Championship, March 10-12, at Spire Institute in Geneva, OH.
The boys placed 17th and the girls, 19th out of 31 teams from the Eastern 3rd of the State.
This was a first District meet for many of our swimmers, and it can be a bit overwhelming, but they rose to the challenge and came away with many personal best times and trips to the podium.
While the meet itself was the highlight, 45 swimmers and their families gathered for a delicious team dinner on Saturday evening. It was nice to have some time to relax and socialize.

State Qualifiers – 1st–6th individuals and 1st-4th relays automatically qualify for States. Logan and Amelia qualified in all their events and Luke in the 200 Breast and alternate in the 50 and 100 Breast. Congratulations and Good Luck!
Fastest Sprint – Sofia Castagnaro - 25 meter run in 11.6 seconds to the starting block for her 200 Back event, while putting on her cap and goggles!
Youngest Swimmer – Elle Yesenosky, at only 8 years old, she qualified for the girl’s 9-10, 200 Free Relay.
Team Players (Saved the Relay) - Cali Murawski – stepped up to swim the backstroke leg of the Girl’s 11-12 Medley Relay when another swimmer was ill. Alex Moyer – hustled to find a hotel and drive up, stepping in to swim backstroke for a sick swimmer in the Boy’s 9-10 Medley Relay.
Team Spirit Award – Molly Millet, her excitement was contagious!
Shout Out to first-year swimmer, Devyn Mouas, for her amazing 50 Free split in the 9-10 Girl’s Free Relay. Devyn went a 35.81, 2.5 seconds faster than her best time that she achieved only one week previously at the Silver meet!
