Bill White Assistant Coach

Bill White was born in Minnesota where he started his swimming career with the South East Metro Sharks in the St. Paul area. To this day he holds every 8 & under team record of the USA club swim team. His former swimming career also included setting national age-group records in breaststroke while living in Mexico.

After being an Indiana High School State runner-up breaststroker, Bill attended the University of Louisville to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. At Louisville, he was a team-record holder in breaststroke and IM events as well as a three-time team MVP.

Bill took up master's swimming in 2000 shortly after moving to the Pittsburgh area. He soon transitioned to be a master's swimming coach as well as swimmer and has coached several Masters National Champions. He has been the Sewickley YMCA master's coach for over a decade and has been involved with the Sewickley Y’s youth team for almost as long. He is also a coach for the Team Pitt USMS swim team.

Michael Monyok Volunteer Assistant Coach

Coach Mike returns for his 6th season with the Sewickley Sea Dragons, having joined the team as a volunteer coach when his children, Luke and Logan, started swimming.  Mike has over a decade of experience on the pool deck, having coached with the renowned JCC Sailfish for many years before joining the Sewickley YMCA coaching ranks.

Mike has always enjoyed being at the pool, both as a swimmer and as a coach.  He started swimming competitively when he was five years old and finished his competitive career at Carnegie Mellon University, where he majored in Chemical Engineering and Public Policy.  At Carnegie Mellon, Mike was a four-year letter winner, voted team captain during his senior year, and earned University Athletic Association All-Academic recognition.

Mike is a lifelong Pittsburgh resident and currently lives in Sewickley with his wife and four children.  Mike is currently a partner at Meyer Unkovic & Scott, where he practices intellectual property law.  When not at the pool or in the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and being at the lake.
