Gold Medal Swimmers Achieve Success at Mesa Quad Meet

Gold Medal swimmers competed against two teams from Colorado and Mesa Aquatics in a two and one-half day meet on January 22-24. Despite some weather issues there were many good performances.

Age Group 2 and 3 from Coach Christine:

The MAC Meet had many great achievements and the swimmers did a great job.

Kailey Albright had 5 best times and achieved 3 JO qualifying times in the 50 FR, 200 FR,100 BK.

Mackenzie Feirstiein had 6 best times and achieved 5 JO qualifying times in the 100,200 FR, 50 FLY, 100BK and 200IM.

Grant Rathjen had 7 best times and achieved 4 state qualifying times in the 100 FR,200FR,50FLY,100FLY and 2 JO qualifying times in 50BR and 100BR.

Madeline Riggle had 5 best time and achieved 2 state qualifying times in the 200 FR,100 BR and 3 JO qualifying times in the 100FR,100BK,100IM.

Marley Spray had 5 best time and achieved 3 state qualifying times in the 50fR,200FR and 100FLY.

Emerson Striet had 2 best times and achieved 2 JO qualifying times in the 200 FR and 100 FLY.

Ryan Beck had 5 Best times in the 50FR, 100 FR,25BR,50BR and 100IM.

Abdi Hendricks had 3 best times and achieved another JO qualifying time in the 200FR.

Cullen Kelly had 2 best times in the 25 BK and 25 BR.

Ander Yu had a best time in the 25BK.

Age Group 1 from Coach Jens:

AG1 had some outstanding performances at the Mesa meet January 22-24.  Overall, we had 87 best times in 160 performances for over 54%.  We achieved 15 new JO qualifying times and 10 new State Championship qualifying times.  We have 9 state qualifiers in AG1 and I am very much looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish at the upcoming State Championships.  Excellent work!

Most Outstanding Performers:

Sasha Volkova achieved 8 new personal bests in 9 events and made 6 new State Qualifying times.

I would also like to recognize and welcome newcomers:  Bruss Bowman who in his first ever meet achieved 6 JO qualifying times and Danielle Fulton who achieved 4 JO qualify times.  Both of these swimmers have come to us from Coach Mike Walker and the Gold Medal Swim Schools.  Thank you Mike!
