Soraya has displayed a great attitude and consistent effort at practice, had near perfect practice attendance and achieved her first three State cuts in the 50 Free, 50 Back and 50 Fly. Soraya also dropped twenty-five seconds in her second ever 500 Freestyle swim. Keep up the great work Soraya!
Gold
Matt Weldy
Matt has had excellent attendance since the creation of the new groups. He has been one of our hardest workers and most consistent performers at Gold workouts. At the “Day After” meet, Matt established his first SC State qualifying times in the 1000 and 1650 freestyle. He also swam the SAC meet after Thanksgiving and established life best times in the 100/200/500 freestyle events, and made 2 more LBT’s and State qualifying times in the 200 Butterfly and 400 IM.
Senior II
Hannah Aguia
Hannah has had excellent attendance. The Candy Cane meet was highly successful for Hannah. She did an excellent job of warming down after events, speaking to her coach before and after every event so we could make adjustments, and subsequently established new life best times in 5 of 7 events and only missed best times in her other 2 events by less than ½ second. She also placed in the top 3 in 5 of her events and won the 200 IM. Her 200 IM on the last night of finals was the highlight of the weekend, and her first Sectional qualifying time for the spring.
Senior I
Sam Arredondo
Sam has excellent attendance, a great work ethic, and supports her teammates regularly in practice and meets. At the Holiday Fest she had multiple best times in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, and 200 IM. She is a great leader and comes to practice with a great attitude every day.
Senior III
Madison Ricks
Madison comes to practice every day, with a positive attitude and willingness to work. She also encourages and supports others! Madison, is able to do this while balancing a difficult work and school schedule.
Blue
Ellie Kayser
Ellie made some significant improvements at the Holiday Fest in the 500, 1000, 1650, and 200 fly. Her 500 free time of 5:05.86, was very close to a Future’s cut as well. She has excellent attendance, and a great effort in practice. In the 1650 event at Holiday Fest she was swimming for the Sectional 1000 cut, but after the hand touched at the 1000, she kept swimming fast and dropped her 1650 free time almost a minute.
