December Meet Wrap Up
Here is a much-delayed wrap-up to our December meets. The coaches try to include every significant swim, but there will be swims that might be overlooked. We had over 160 swimmers compete in December. Senior Three will have a wrap-up posted later in the week. Thanks for your continued support. There is alot to report, so this is more lengthy than it will be in the future.
Gold
The Gold group overall swam well this past month with 51% Life Best Times(LBT’s). Many of the Holiday Fest swimmers did not get a chance to swim many finals due to the very high level of competition, or I believe we would have had more LBT’s.
Top Performers at Holiday Fest:
Piper Jones-Campbell 67 points, highest finishes - 4th in 200 Fly and 500 Free
Alp Cetegen 64 points, highest finishes – 5th 50 Breast, 6th 200 Breast
Top Performer at SAC:
Matt Weldy had 5 LBT’s and achieved 2 new State Qualifying times in the 200 Fly and 400 IM

Senior II
The December meets were very successful for the Senior II group. Over all we had 62% Life Best Times(LBT’s), which is pretty good for a Senior level group, just coming off a successful high school season. We had the majority of the group swimming the SAC meet, which was a low-key meet compared to the Holiday Fest, but it gave most of our swimmers an opportunity to swim finals, which would not have occurred at the Holiday Fest.
Top performers at SAC:
Camryn Colvin 6 for 6 LBT’s and won 5 of her 6 events
Evan Beck was 7 for 7 LBT’s, and dropped 21 seconds in his 1650 after making his first state cut in the 1650 at the November “Day After” meet.
Top Performer at Candy Cane(PSC):
Hannah Aguila achieved her first Sectional Qualifying time in the 200 IM, and had 5 LBT’s

Gold Medal swimmers performed exceptionally well at the Candy Cane Classic meet. Despite the cold weather we had many best times and many finals swims on both Saturday and Sunday!

The group did a great job this past weekend. We had 7 new state qualifying times and 16 new JO qualifying times. I was very happy to see all the swimmers stepping up and swimming fast all weekend long. We had plenty of notable swims across the weekend:
