Tri Meet Wrap-up For Age Group 1 and 2 and Senior 2 and Gold
Swim Meet News For The Tri Meet
Senior Two:
Best overall performances:
Evan Beck had 5 LBT’s in 6 events and 1 new State Qualifying time in the 500 Free. He also had drops of 6 seconds in the 400 IM and 10 seconds in the 200 Back, which put him very close to SQ in those events.
Markus Crawford also performed well with 5 of 6 LBT’s, including a 12 second drop in the 200 fly and 8.6 seconds in the 100 Fly.
Micah Driggers was the 3rd swimmer to go 5 for 6 LBT’s and completed the 400 IM for the first time
New State qualifying times:
Andres Esparza 100 Free and 1st time under :50 with a :49.53
Kimi Palmer achieved 2 new SQ times in the 1000 Free and the 200 Back
Other top performances:
-Alex Bushko: 2 second drop in the 100 FR
-Carley Codney: 7 second drop in the 200 FL
-Aidan Feirstein: 4 major drops and best times, highlighted by a 35 second drop in the 500 FR
-Eli Neeley: 13 second drop in the 200 BR
Gold:
Dana El-Rayes was 6 for 7 LBT’s highlighted with a :22 second and a new state qualifying time in the 1650.
Anthony Kummet had 5 new LBT’s. He had 4 new state qualifying times in the 50 back and 50 Fly and swam the 1650 for the first time, also qualifying for State in both the 1650 and 1000 in the same race.

Other top performances:
-Marley Spray dropped 2 seconds in the 100 IM to go 1:08 and dropped 5 seconds in the 200 IM to go 2:22
-Matt Weldy dropped another 27 seconds in the 1650 to go 18:03
-Koryne Gantt: first time under 19 min in the mile, dropping 54 seconds from her previous best.

The Age Group 2 Chandler swimmers did a great job this past weekend at the Tri meet. The group had 5 new State qualifying times and 7 Regional qualifying times. Our group had 53 best time swims for over 90% across all events. Here are some individual highlights:

Turner Pearson: 50 FLY, 100 FLY, 100 BK, and 200 IM
Teagan Tolson: 500 FR.

Evan Cho: 500 FR.
Ember Marinello: 500 FR.

Age Group 2 Ahwatukee
The group raced well over the weekend and produced strong finishes within the 8 & under, 10 & under and 11-12 age groups. As a group we achieved 100% best times in one or more events, had four new State cuts and seven new Regional cuts. In addition, we had four swimmers who were event winners during the weekend. I passed out an enormous stack of ribbons to help keep the motivation high for this training group. Congratulations to all our swimmers who believe a great attitude and attendance will produce future achievements.
