Gold Medal Swimmers swimming fast at Mayflower Meet!

Gold Medal came out in full force at our first long course of the year in Tucson at the FAST Mayflower. Congratulations to all swimmers; we had many first swims, best times, as well as new qualifications for JOs, Age Group State, Sectionals, and Futures.

Age Group 2

AG2 had a great weekend of first LCM meet at the FAST Meet. AG2 swimmers achieved 67 best times on 71 attempts for 100% of best times . As a group we had 21 new State Qualifying times and 42 new Regional Qualifying times. Congratulations to all our swimmers who believe a great attitude and attendance will produce future achievements.

Kitt Agne with Six best times including his first LCM State qualifying time in 50 free and 4 Regional qualifying times in the 100, 200 free and 50 fly, 50 back. His other best time came in the 50 breaststroke .

Ryan Beck with six best times including his first Regional qualifying times in the 50 breaststroke. His other best times are 50, 100 free and 50, 100 back and 50 fly.

Stella Daniels with seven best times including her first LCM State qualifying time in the 50Bk. 5 Regional qualifying times in the 50, 100 free and 200 IM and 50 breaststroke and 100 back. Her other best time is 400 free.

Claire Horton with six best times including 5 Regional qualifying times in the 50, 100, 200 free and 50,100 back. Her other best time came in 400 free with 41.70 seconds dropped.

Cullen Kelly with six State qualifying times in the 50, 100, 200 free and 50,100 fly and 50 back. His 100 free, 50 back and 50 fly also qualify Western Zone All Start Meet.

Ashton Largent first time competing in LCM with six best times including six Regional qualifying times in 50, 100 back and 50, 100 free and 50, 100 Breaststroke.

Hadley Nixon seven best times with seven State qualifying times in 100, 200, 400 free and 50, 100 breaststroke and 100 back and 200 IM with 145 seconds dropped in total events.

Rachael Spresney with three best times including one State qualifying time in the 50 breaststroke. 2 Regional qualifying times in the 50 free and 100 fly.

Holly Swaninger with seven best times including her first LCM State qualifying time in the 50 free. 6 Regional qualifying times in the 100, 200, 400 free and 50, 100 back and 100 breaststroke.

Declan Tierney five best times with 5 Regional qualifying times in the 50, 100 fly and 100 back and 200 free and 200 IM.

Teagan Tolson with five best times including 2 State qualifying time in the 400 free and 50 back. 5 Regional qualifying times in the 50, 100, 200 free and 200 IM and 100 back.

Angela You with four best times including one State qualifying time in the 100 fly. 5 Regional qualifying times in the 50, 100 free and 50 fly and 50 back and 50 breaststroke.

Age Group 1

AG1 swimmers had an outstanding first LCM meet of the season! 22 swimmers from AG1 had 100% best times for the weekend, with the group as a whole achieving a whopping 93.6% best time percentage across all of their races - the highest in AG1 history thus far! We also had a number of swimmers qualify their existing SCY state times for LCM state times, with a few of our swimmers getting close to state times in new events as well!

Gold group had many outstanding swims at the first LC meet of the season, with an 81% best time achievement rate. The first LC meet of the season is a refresher and swimmers who swam best times did an outstanding job. Congratulations to all Gold group swimmers on a successful and fast first meet!

Blue

Blue group had a great meet at the Mayflower Invite. The first LCM meet of the season gives us a base to build off of, and many Blue swimmers left with an outstanding 6/7 or 7/7 best times. We had a first time sectional qualifier, Megan Moon, in the 1500 FR to kick off the meet. Swimmers who achieved best times should be proud of their performance and look forward to a fast rest of the season.

Senior 2

S2 did fantastic at the Mayflower Invite. The first LCM meet of the season serves as a refresher from the previous year, and gives the swimmers an idea of where they’re starting at this season. For some swimmers in the group, this was their first LCM meet ever! Many swimmers achieved best times from previous seasons, and every swimmer who was right on their best time or better did an outstanding job.

Senior 1

Senior 1 had several great swims at the Mayflower Invite to start off this season. The first LCM meet is a refresher on racing in meters again, and swimmers who achieved best times or were right on last season’s best did a great job. Also at this meet, we had the opportunity to participate in a SKINS competition, which comes from the ISL (International Swimming League). In this race, the top 8 fastest 50 freestylers race a heat, then the top 4 from that heat race again, and then the top 2 race for a champion. We had 8 swimmers total represent Gold Medal in the SKINS races:
