Swimming Fast at the Speedo Invite!

Gold Medal swimmers had some impressive swims at the Speodo Invite, congrats to all! Here are our meet reviews, group by group.

Age Group 2

-Claire Horton and Luke Skousen from AG2 had a great weekend in the pool at the speedo Invite and did a great job.

-Claire Horton achieved 7 best times and two new Regional times in the 100 fly and 200 IM. 

-Luke Skousen achieved 5 best times and two Regional times in the 100free and 50 backstroke.

Age Group 1

AG1 Swimmers did a phenomonal job at their second meet of the LCM season! The group had a large best time percentage (over 80%) with many of those best times getting very close to new State cuts.

 
-Vaughn Ainsworth swam a full schedule of events and made it back for 3 finals events.
 
-Jordan Cruz got best times in multiple backstroke events as well as 2 additional events.
 
-Ariella Strock got multiple new Regional times throughout the weekend.
 
-Braelyn Ballif got multiple best times and continues to improve quickly.
 
-Abby Lippert got best times in most of her events on top of getting close to some State cuts.
 
-Aiden Wang made 4 finals events on top of some big time drops as a new 13 year old.
 
Gold and Blue 

Gold and Blue group swimmers had a super meet and raced hard in finals at the Speedo Invite. We continue to train race strategy and finishing fast this part of the season, and our swimmers are working hard to do just that! Congratulations to the following swimmers on some outstanding swims:

Piper Jones-Campbell-dropped 2 seconds in the 200 free (2:20) and placed 3rd in the 200 fly

Greer Masing- BT in the 100 back (1:22) and dropped 2 seconds in the 200 free (2:24)

Ryan Munoz- BT in 100 fly, dropped almost a second

Karson Leavitt- BT in the 1500 (17:41), just missing the summer Sectional cut of 17:36

Senior 2

Senior 2 had some fanstastic notable swims and had great finals swims at the Speedo Invite! At this meet, we are primarily looking for mid-season best times and fast swims as we are working hard through the season.  Here are some of the highlights:

Andres Esparza- dropped almost 7 seconds in the 400 free and BT in the 200 fly (2:25) by 7 seconds and getting close to the spring Sectional cut.

Natalie Huddart - BT in the 100 free (1:04.7) and over 2 second drop in the 100 back (1:16)

Senior One

Congratulations to S1 swimmers who competed at the Speedo Invite! This meet included many great swims, including a first time qualifier for both the Futures and Summer Sectional championship meets. At training meets like this one, we look for in-season best times, and we were happy to see many swimmers achieving in-season best times as well as some swimmers achieving best times from previous years’ championship meets. 

 

New Qualifiers:

-Finn Conley: 1st sectional cut in the 200 FL (2:17)

-Paige Downey: 1st futures cut in the 1500 (17:35)

-Sam: lifetime best in-season prelims swim in the 100 BR (1:18) and 100 FR (1:01)

-Cedric: lifetime best time 200 FR and first time under 2:00 (1:59)

-Stephanie: 4 sec drop and right off a futures cut in the 200 FL (2:22)

-Daytona: 4 sec drop in the 200 BK to 2:34

-Tommy: 2 sec drop in the 200 FR to 2:07 and right off the summer sectional cut in the 100 BK

-Grant: 56.5 100 FR and 2:05 200 FR for an 8 sec drop

-Haley: lifetime best prelims time 1:07 100 BK

-Ryan: 1 sec drop 100 FL to 1:04

-Dylan: 3 sec drop in the 200 BK to 2:35 and 2 sec drop in the 200 IM to 2:34

-Lawrence: first time under a minute in the 100 FR (59.7) and 2 sec drop in the 200 FR to 2:09
