September Swimmers of the Month

Michael Chasson

Swimmer of the Month for September

Senior 1

Due to the large size of Senior 1, I have three winners for September.

Male Swimmer: Cedric Brooking. Cedric has significantly improved his work ethic over the past few months. He has displayed a tremendous attitude and swam well at the SAC meet and in practice test sets. His hard work and dedication should lead to some great swims in the near future.

Female Swimmer: Sasha Volkova. Sasha continues to work hard at practices and swam all best times at the SAC meet. Her 200 breaststroke time from the SAC meet, which was just off of Futures, was one of the most impressive swims from the group this Fall. She has shown consistent improvement and a willingness to listen to her coaches.

I created this category for high school season. There have been some very impressive swims at the invites from almost every athlete. Many best times and I wish I could recognize all of them.

High School Swimmer: Lorin Tobler. Lorin swam one of the most impressive high school invites of September with best times in the 100 fly and 100 free and a very fast 50 fly split on her schools 200 medley relay. Her 100 backstroke, while not a best time, displayed improved tempo and pacing.

Senior 2

Congratulations to S2 Swimmer of the Month Bruss Bowman! Since moving to S2 at the beginning of this season, he has met every challenge thrown his way and shown great determination to reach his goals. His positivity and work ethic motivates everyone around him and he’s already had multiple best times this season. Thank you Bruss for making our group better - keep up the great work!

Blue

Congratulations to Jonathan Zinger on being Blue Group’s Swimmer of the Month for September! Jonathon comes every day with a strong work ethic to train hard as well as a great attitude and desire to go after his goals. For his effort, he swam all best times in his events at the SAC Swimtember meet. Congrats Jonathon, keep on the awesome work!

Age Group 1

Joselyn Franzone!

Joselyn went 7/7 in time drops at the SAC meet including a 77 second drop off of her 500 time, 36 second drop on her 200IM, and 7 seconds down in her 50 free from last SCY season. She's also been a good lane leader in practice often, especially on our distance and best-average sets. Additionally, Joselyn had near-perfect practice attendance for the month, which was crucial in helping her prepare for such a great first meet of the season. Congrats Joselyn!

Age Group 2

Rachel Spresney is the AG2-CHS September Swimmer of the Month. With a positive attitude and hard work ethic, as well as great attention to her stroke technique in practice. Congratulations Rachel!

Ellie Pena is the AG2 ACC September Swimmer of Month. She among the hardest workers in the pool every day and she is a great teammate, helping with intervals and motivation. Way to go Ellie!
