January Swimmer of the Month
Age Group 2
Audrey Botsios has displayed a great attitude and consistent effort at practice, had 100% practice attendance. The Candy Cane and Dual meet was highly successful for her. She did an excellent job of warming down after events, speaking to her coach after every event so we could make adjustments. She continues to work hard at each practice and gets better and faster. She is now chasing 50 and 100 backstroke state cut. Congratulations Audrey for AG2 January swimmer of month!!
Age Group 1
The AG1 swimmer of the month is William You! William had an amazing January, including being a part of the Arizona Swimming All-Star team, where he dropped 21 seconds in his 400IM amongst many other best times, helping contribute to Arizona Swimming's win over SDI. William also swam 6 individual events and multiple relays at the Dual Meet Champs meet to help Gold Medal win the meet! William's practice efforts have been great, with many fast practice times and good attendance through the month. Congratulations William!
Blue
Aiden Wang is Blue group's Swimmer of the Month, way to go Aiden! Aiden had been working diligently on his technique and his work ethic since the start of the season; for all of his efforts, he got his first 13-14 State cut in the 100 breast at the AZ Dual Champs earlier this month and got his second cut in the 200breast at the SAC Winter Invite. And, he is getting close to making a few more cuts in both the 100 and 200 back as well as the 200im. Congrats again to Aiden!
Senior 1
Trey Hesser-Trey had over 90% attendance in January. He recorded huge improvements in the 1000 free, 400 IM, 200 fly, 100 fly, and 100 back. His IM, fly, and back times are all new Sectional cuts. His 1000 time, would be a high placing time at the upcoming Sectionals in Austin. Trey has been steadlily improving his workout performances the past six weeks.
Clare Luken-Clare had 90% in January and improved her workout performances significantly in the last six weeks. She swam best times in the 500 free and 400 IM at the SAC Invite. She also swam a best time in the 200 fly at the team intersquad meet. Her 400 IM time was a nine second improvement and close to a Futures cut.
Senior 2
Congratulations to the S2 January Swimmer of the Month Aidan Feirstein. Aidan has great attendance, work ethic, and attitude. I’m very impressed by how he consistently asks what he can do to get better and is always willing to do the work. I can’t wait to see his hard work pay off this championship season. Congrats Aidan!
