Age Group 1
What a great season we had for AG2! We had a total of 17 swimmers at the Age Group State Championship meet. I am very happy with what they achieved. We had a little rough start switching right away into full racing mode but the swimmers kept fighting and really began competing hard. I am very proud of them! I really enjoyed coming to each practice, working with all of the swimmers and seeing improvement every day, and then seeing all of that progress at the championship meets these past couple of weeks. The dedication from each and every one of the swimmers is great to see when everyone is aspiring to make achievements in something they are so passionate about.
An impressive performance was put in by Sophia in her swim-off for the A final in her 50 FR. She tied again with the swimmer from SAC so they did a second swim-off and advanced to the A final!
10&U girls 200 Medley relay - A team won 1st place and B team got 6th place. Boys got place 4th.
10&U boys 200 Free relay - Won 3rd place and girls got 4th place.

Congratulations to all of the swimmers who qualified for the 2023 SCY Age Group State Meet! Everyone played a big part in our second SCY State win in back-to-back years! Age Group 1 swimmers contributed an exceptionally large amount of points to the team total, including 3 swimmers from the group who are individual event State Champions!
Cullen Kelly won the 50 free, 100 IM, and 100 free events, was a podium-finisher in all of his individual events, and was the 2nd place high-point winner for 10&U Boys!
William You won the 400 IM, was a podium-finisher for the 200 free, and finished 4th place in 2 other events!
Addison Zius won the 200 fly, was a podium-finisher for the 100 fly, and came away with top-5 finishes in 3 other events!
In addition to the above, the following swimmers all qualified for at least one A-final during the meet, securing a top-8 finish in the event!

Blue Group
Congrats to the Blue Group for swimming some amazing races at AG State! I am particularly pleased with some of our swims in the distance events and our relays. It is a long meet, and our swimmers did an awesome job staying competitive the whole weekend! I also want to give special shout out to Vaughn Ainsworth and Aiden Wang for their help with filling in for relays over the over the course of the competition as we had a couple of swimmers out sick; without their help, our 13-14 boys “B” relays wouldn’t have scored points for the team, so I greatly appreciate their commitment and contribution to the overall win at State!
Vaughn Ainsworth- BTs in the 100 back and the 1000 free; dropped 25 seconds in the 1000.
Kailey Albright- 4 BTs in events; dropped almost 3.5 seconds in the 200 fly; 4 top 8 finishes.
Emma Antawirya- 5 BTs in events; placed 2nd in the 1650 and 3rd in the 1000 free.
Alp Cetegen- swam great breaststrokes splits to help our 13-14 boys medley relays get 1st place, BT in the 50 free
Isla McMullan- BT in the 1650; dropped almost 50 seconds in the 1650, also great relay splits of 54.8 in the 100 free and the 50 free 24.8.
Cyrus Mead- BT in the 400 Im.
Katie Plank- BTs in the 100 breast and 200 back; placed 1st in 50 back, 2nd in the 100 breast, and 3rd in 100 back and 200 back.
Grant Rathjen- 4 BTs in events; placed 2nd in 200 back, 3rd in 100 back and the 1650 (dropped almost 1 minute in the mile!)
