February Swimmers of the Month

Michael Chasson

Senior 2

Congratulations to the S2 February Swimmer of the Month Lawrence Wen. Lawrence consistently holds himself to the highest standard and works incredibly hard at every practice. He supports his teammates, has a great attitude, and elevates the group every day. At Dutchman, Lawrence dropped 30 seconds in his 1650 and is 1 second off his Sectional cut. At State, he broke 23.00 officially and is now right on that cut as well. Congratulations Lawrence on a great season and thank you for helping make our team great!

Age Group 1

AG1 has 2 swimmers of the month for February - Tabitha Bryce and Turner Pearson!

Tabitha achieved her first State time in the 100 Fly, dropping almost 3 seconds to do so, and winning the event at Regionals! Tabitha had a great month at practice as well, which helped her achieve the cut. Tabitha has also been a great teammate and leader in workouts throughout the month!

Turner achieved 3 new State times between Dutchman and Regionals, amongst many other big time drops in both meets. Turner's workouts last month were great, with near-perfect attendance and a great work ethic.

Congratulations to both swimmers!

Age Group 2

AG2 February swimmer of month - Karly Thor

Karly is focused and hardworking while always being kind and thoughtful to her teammates.  Karly finished her last meet of the season with phenomenal swims at the Regional meet. Achieved 8 best times with over 7 minutes dropped total.

Congratulations Karly for AG2 February swimmer of month!!

Blue

Way to go Katie Skarbek for being chosen as Blue Group's Swimmer of the Month for February! Katie had quite the month, making her first Sectional cut in the mile at Lost Dutchman (her time-17:56.83); she was also able to get her 1000 free cut from that swim as well (her time-10:50.34). She went on to make her State cut in the 200 free at Regionals the following weekend. Katie has near perfect attendance and is very dedicated; congrats Katie on your commitment to making practices and working hard as it is paying off!

Senior 1

Cedric Brooking had five best times over two meets in February. He had excellent attendance and a great work ethic. His 400 IM against SAC was a significant improvement for that meet. He is willing to put in extra time to prepare for workout and meets that many swimmers aren’t willing to do.

Cali Watts had three best times over two meets in February. She had major improvements in 200 free and 200 breast, achieving a Futures time in the breaststroke. Cali has excellent attendance, and she races at every practice.  She has shown she is willing to put in extra time to continue to get better.

Senior 3

Chris Laprath is this month’s swimmer of the month for Senior 3.  Chris qualified for age group State in every event he swam in at the Region meet and had 2 first place finishes.  Chris works hard every day and is a great teammate.  Great job Chris! Keep up the good work!
