S2 & Blue
The Sun Devil Invite was a fun and fast meet where swimmers had the opportunity to race against some of the fastest swimmers in the world. I was impressed by how S2 handled the competition, swam their own races, and made big time drops. Below are some highlights from the meet:
Evan Bushko: Season Best in the 50 FR and 100 FR, best time in the 100 BK
Reese Carpenter: BT in the 200 IM, 100 FL, and 200 BK
Camryn Colvin: Season Best in all events
Faith Fletcher: Season Best in the 100 BR and top 16 in the 100 and 200 BR
Alexa Largent: 100% BT, new Summer Sectional in the 200 FL, top 16 in the 400 FR, 400 IM, and 200 FL. Her
Langston Lindsey: BT in the 100 FL (top 16), 100 BK, and 200 FL. For 13 year olds, his 100 FL is the 2nd fastest in the US and 100 FR is the 3rd fastest.
Katie Skarbek: BT in the 100 and 800 FR (top 16)
Marley Spray: BT in the 100 BK and 200 BK. Her 100 and 200 BK are currently the fastest in the nation for 11-12 women and new AZ state records

Blue swimmers had a very successful Phoenix Summer Invite with 18 new State cuts and 6 new Regional cuts.Overall, Blue swimmers performed well in their prelim races which set them up for success at night. This will be key as we head into Championship season where a second swim isn’t always guaranteed.

S2 had an exciting weekend with some big drops and new cuts. The group had 5 new State cuts, 2 Regional cuts, and 2 Sectional cuts. Race strategy and race splits have improved since May Cray and I’m looking forward to strong swims the rest of the season as we clean up races going into our Championship meets. Congrats everyone!

Narwhal Invite
Another great weekend of swimming at the Mesa Narwhal Invite. Swimmers at the meet achieved 116 best times. As a group we had 5 new State Qualifying times and 14 new Regionals Qualifying times. Congratulations on our first time state qualifiers Ella Wilson and Ava Morro.

Marley Spray won 2nd place high point award, 5 best times and now has her first fan club from North Jeffco swim team.

Congratulations to all of our new Regional and State qualifiers from the AZAC Summer Sizzler! This was a quick meet that required swimmers to get up and race fast with short rest time in between events.
