AG1 Swimmers of the Month for April and May and Meet Summary
May Cray Summary:
I spoke with Coach Steve about the May Cray meet and he could not stop telling me how great of a TEAM this group is. From the support behind the blocks to the organization you all showed us, it made me very proud to hear this! In all of the racing we did, we had a great meet of practicing what coaches have been saying and time drops. For our swimmer in the 800, you all did a FANTASTIC job of being ready, getting a second warm-up in, and keeping the energy high. In a long session, it is easy to lose focus and sit around, but you all crushed that race prep. Coming back to consistency in practice, which I love talking about, I noticed a trend with events and overall improvements. In the events that we are knowledgeable about we had success, but in the events that we didn't have a lot of experience with, it was more challenging to find those improvements. So long as we can do the skills required for the newer events as frequently as possible, we will find success. Time spent on a task is a teacher!
SOTM - April and May
Audrey Botsios - Coming in with 100% attendance in May, Audrey is the AG1 swimmer of the Month. Audrey has so many great attributes such as an unwavering work ethic, contagious energy, and supporting teammates. The practice consistency and discipline Audrey has put forth is a leading factor in the recent successes. At May Cray Audrey was able to drop massive time in 3 out of 4 events, all of which she is very focused on each practice. Keep up the amazing work Audrey!
Blake Albright - Landing a perfect attendance in April, Blake earned the swimmer of the month for April. Blake arrives at every practice with a great attitude, wanting to work as hard as he can. He has overcome challenges with great discipline and a big smile. Seeing Blake grow into a fierce competitor has been amazing and it is a huge part of his success. At May Cray, Blake did his first 800m freestyle and crushed it. Like the others in that event, Blake showed his teammates and coaches what determination looks like. I'm very proud of how far you have come, Blake!
