Gold Medal Places 4th Overall and 3rd in Women at Futures
Futures was the highest level meet of the summer after Olympic Trials. The final long course meet of the summer was very successful. S1 had twenty swimmers compete and at least 15 did one best time. The 400 free relays were excellent with almost everyone right on their best time. The men's 800 free relay was also great, as three of the four swimmers did their best best time. The team support of those swimming finals was among the best of any meet I have attended in the past few years. The teams that placed ahead of us are multi-site teams with hundreds of more swimmers. A number of S1 swimmers had very tough schedules with tough doubles. A special shout out to Marley, Reagan, and Ariel who swam the most individual events.
Highlights
Cohen Gunsalus achieved the summer junior national time in the 200 fly and Ellie Kayser achieved the 1500 free summer junior national time and Lorin Tobler achieved the summer junior national time in 100 fly, and Grant Kellis just missed the 200 back by 0.3.
Reagan Uhlik achieved the long course Future cut in the 800 free. Ariel Beltran achieved the long course 200 breast Futures cut. Sasha Volkova achieved a Futures time in 200 IM.
