Paige Downey Wins the 1500 free at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Australia

Paige Downey was selected for the US National Team that traved to Canberra, Austraila last week. The Junior Pan Pacific team was selected off of the Olympic Trials..To be eligible, you had to swim at the Olympic Trials, be 18 years and younger, and finish in the top two at the trials in your event. Paige was selected for the 800 and 1500 free.

The first day of the meet Paige won the 1500 free and improved her best time eight seconds. In her race, she also did best times in the 400 free and 800 free while completing the 1500.

She also placed 5th in the 800 free.This competition included swimmers from Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singaprore, and the United States.
