Senior 1 November Meet Review
November Meet Highlights
There were many great swims in November at a variety of meets. It was very hard to pick Swimmers of the Month with so many great swims. I was looking for major breakthroughs in times and significant accomplishments. In addition to the Swimmers of the Month below, three other swimmers won State HS championships.
Ellie Kayser-200 and 500 free
Caroline Grimsley-200 free
Safiyah Supreme-100 free
Swimmers of the Month For November
Lorin Tobler-She won both her events at the State HS meet for the second year in a row. She swam a best time in the 100 fly and tied her best time in the 100 back. She also led off her school's 400 free relay with a near best time.
Adia Peterson-Possibly the best swim from Senior One in the 500 free with a major improvment in the event. She has shown improved work ethic and attitude. She followed up her 500 with a huge drop in the 1650 free at the Day After HS meet.
Paige Downey-She swam the fastest time in the country for a high school swimmer in the 1650 at the Kevin Perry meet. She followed her 1650 swim with a final in the 200 back with seven minutes rest and then a best time in the 200 fly final 20 minutes later. She also swam best times in the 1000 free and the 500 free.
Grant Kellis-He dropped two seconds in the 200 free at the State HS meet with a incredible finish to get second place. He also swam a best time in the 100 backstroke for second place.
Cohen Gunsalus-He dropped two seconds in the 200 IM to get second place in the State HS meet. he also led off his schools 400 free relay with a best time in the 100 free. He also placed fourth in the 100 fly just off a best time.
