Senior Three December Recap and Swimmer of the Month

Michael Chasson

Our December Swimmer of the Month is Ryu Cheng!

Ryu has shown incredible resilience and determination as he makes his return to swimming after an injury. He has diligently followed his physical therapy plan and worked hard to get back into the pool. His efforts have already paid off, as he achieved five best times at the Maryann Graham Keever meet in November and two additional best times at the Candy Cane Classic, where he also qualified to swim in finals.

Ryu’s consistency in training, positive attitude, and admirable effort during every practice set a great example for his teammates. He leads by example and fosters strong, positive relationships within the team.

We are thrilled to celebrate Ryu’s progress and are excited to see him finish the short course season strong. Congratulations, Ryu!

Senior Three Welcome New Swimmers

We’re excited to welcome new swimmers to the Senior Three Training group this December: Hannah Doster, Evelyn Hannah, Tristan Jia, Daven Ho, and Tabitha Bryce. We can’t wait to see you thrive and achieve new milestones with the team!

Candy Cane Classic Recap

Senior Three attended the Candy Cane Classic in December. Our small but mighty group of three swimmers achieved an incredible 90% improvement rate, with 10 out of 11 races resulting in best times for the group.

  • Ryu Cheng: 3/3 best times
  • Tristan Jia: 3/3 best times
  • Daniel McCoy: 5/5 best times

This was Tristan’s first-ever club swim meet, and he started off strong with a fantastic first-time 500 Free swim. Both Ryu and Daniel qualified for finals in several events, showcasing their hard work and dedication.

Great job to everyone who competed, we’re so proud of your accomplishments!
