Senior Three February Recap
February was a month of dedication, growth, and strong performances for our Senior Three group. With championship season in full swing, the athletes continued to push themselves in training and competition, demonstrating resilience and commitment to their goals. We also welcomed two new swimmers to the group: Adara Stiffler and Alexander Barton.
Dutchman Meet Highlights
We had four new swimmers compete in their first club meet at Dutchman in February! A total of six Senior Three athletes attended, achieving numerous best times and new Regional qualifying times.
- Ryu Cheng – Achieved 3 of 5 best times and made Finals in the 200 Butterfly.
- Yash Goswami – Competed in his first club meet, earning a 6-second drop in the 50 Back.
- Evie Hannah – Competed in her first-ever club meet, achieving a best time and a new Regional cut in the 50 Free.
- Hannah Small – Competed in her first club meet, achieving 3 of 4 best times and earning a new Regional cut.
- Claire Whitenack – Competed in her first-ever club meet, achieving 3 of 4 best times, earning new Regional cuts in the 50 and 100 Free, and dropping 6 seconds in the 100 Free.
Regional Championship Highlights
Senior Three had nine swimmers qualify for Regionals. Our athletes stepped up with strong swims, best times, and finals appearances!
- Ryu Cheng – Achieved 3 of 5 best times, dropped 4 seconds from the previous week at Dutchman, made Finals in the 100/200 Butterfly, and broke 1:00 in the 100 Fly.
- Yash Goswami – Achieved 1 of 2 best times.
- Evie Hannah – Achieved a new best time in the 50 Free and qualified for Finals.
- Daven Ho – Qualified for Finals in the 100 Breast.
- Triastan Jia – Achieved 3 of 3 best times and qualified for Finals in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast.
- Hannah Small – Had another sub-30 second swim in the 50 Free.
- Ronav Udar – Not feeling his best but still stepped up for the team, swimming in a 200 relay—your efforts were truly appreciated!
- Claire Whitenack – Qualified for Finals in both the 50 and 100 Free.
It was an outstanding month highlighting the dedication, perseverance, and commitment to consistent training that defines this group. Congratulations on a successful short course season! I look forward to seeing your continued progress and development as we transition into the long course season.
