Senior One October Meet Wrap-up
Pumpkin Patch was a solid showing. There were a few stellar performances and a few short of workout-based expectations. Something that both Mike and I are noticing is how well we are swimming these races. Being aggressive when we can, getting out to a first split that gives us a chance, and being consistent. I will shout out events from Pumpkin Patch and a few High school meet results.
Myra Streit qualified for her first Winter Junior Nationals in the 1000 Free, dropping over 15 seconds. In her 500 split of that race, she also achieved the Futures standard in the 500 Free, earning a bonus swim at Juniors.
Lily Hineman qualified for her first Winter Junior Nationals in the 1000 Free.
Katie Skarbek continues her streak, earning her first Futures cut in the 1000 Free, dropping a staggering 23 seconds.
Marley Spray - 4:16 in the 400 IM, top 8 times that made A final last year Juniors. Marley also achieved the 50 Free Junior National time standard.
Grant Kellis' first time under 4:30 in the 500 and a best time in the 200 Free (1:38.44)
There are plenty of other swims that should not go unnoticed, but the breakthroughs and personal achievements of the swimmers above have been in the making for close to a year. Some other quick shoutouts for some great racing and results over the past two weeks: Porter, Katie Plank, Joe, Lincoln, Adia, Ellie, Lukas, Mia, Tila, and Reagan.
