AG1 Performs Well at the MGK Odd Age Invite

Michael Chasson

With a couple meets under our belt this short-course season, most swimmers have already refreshed their best times. Now the focus shifts to sharpening the small details that create big progress. As we’ve been saying: if you want to accomplish something you’ve never accomplished before, you have to be willing to do something you’ve never done.

AG1’s theme continues to guide us:

  1. Listening. Putting yourself in a position to hear, learn, and give space for others to do the same.
  2. Understanding. Asking questions, seeking clarity, watching examples.
  3. Application. Trying the skills, testing what works, and adjusting what doesn’t.
  4. Accountability. Owning your effort and your focus. Are you chasing meaningful details or just going through the motions? Are you communicating your goals? Are you aware of the path to achieve your goals?

This group showed strong growth mindsets all weekend. As swimmers get older, it’s easy to get caught up in numbers and cuts. The real progress happens when you trust the process, commit to the work, and stay grounded in the journey. The breakthrough will come.

Thank you to all the athletes and parents. These long weekends take a village, and your support, food, rest, rides, organization, showing up on time, and productive conversations at home regarding swimming. This makes a real impact into the athletes’ success and their growth into responsible, confident young adults.

Thank you again, keep pushing forward. Go Gold.
