AG1 January Meet Wrap-up

Michael Chasson

Dual Meet Champs was an awesome weekend for our team. We gained valuable experience racing fierce, out-of-state competitors and earning points for our team. Everyone showed up ready to race while keeping their technique sharp and staying focused. You could really see how much every point mattered and how hard our swimmers were willing to fight down to the finish.

Thank you to all the athletes for being on time, staying positive, and bringing good energy to every session. The communication was great, and I loved seeing everyone take accountability for their swims and stay locked in on what they needed to do next.

Back-to-back meet weekends are never easy, but our athletes showed exactly what it means to stay committed and show up no matter what. We’re learning how to race when we’re cold or tired… and how to rely on our systems, strategy, and technique to carry us through.

A big part of this weekend was working on positive self-talk and shifting the way we speak to ourselves before, during, and after our races. Do we say “I hope I don’t fail” or “I will do my best to succeed”? That mindset matters, and it showed in how our swimmers approached each session.

Just as important was the support we saw on deck. Our athletes lifted each other up through big swims and every opportunity for growth. The encouragement and support for one another, swimmer and parent timer/counter, was fantastic.
