The Amherst Tritons Swim Team is a parent run team that is led by a parent run volunteer board of directors.  Everything that happens on our team from fundraising to running a meet, aside from all the hard work our wonderful coaches put in, is because of volunteer parents who bring their talents and trades to the table.  There is plenty of need for volunteers and all parents of swimmers are expected to contribute to the group effort from season to season.  Volunteer jobs include, but are not limited to:

- Timing at meets - every meet requires two timers for every lane during every race our kids swim.  This is one of the best ways to get a front row seat to your child's swimming.

- Helping with Fundraising - Fundraising is so important for a non-profit organization to stay afloat.  Jobs in this arena can include collecting donatins, sending emails, organizing raffles, handing out awards, reaching out for volunteer participants to assist in organizing fundraising events, etc.

- Assisting at gear day - This includes helping parents sift through equipment and gear, keeping things organized on display, and assisting Metro Swim shop representatives with customer service.

- Meet safety marshalls - This is an on deck job at meets which involves monitoring all people on deck to ensure they are adhering to pre-approved and set USA swim meet safety rules.

- Meet hospitality - This job revolves around providing refreshments for our hard working coaches, officials, and meet directors so that they can adequately fuel themselves throughout the course of often very long and demanding meet sessions.  Volunteers will help order, pick up, and deliver food and drink to designated hospitality areas each day of a team hosted meet.

- Concessions - When we host meets, we have a concession stand where we sell food for swimmers and their families.  Assistance for this will range from food aquisition and customer service.

- Meet officials - This might be the most exciting job!  Meets are run by many officials who volunteer their time to make sure swimmers are legal in their strokes.  There is a team funded training session that parents attend before they become an official and then they are good to go to help at meets.  Please inquire with our head coach about upcoming meet official trainings.

- Board of Directors - The Board of Directors is the oil of the machine.  The BOD is involved in every single decision made about the team and is a very good way to get involved.  The board meets once a month for an hour and a half to discuss policies and their updates, finances, budgets, new ideas, and meet hosting logistics. The board also consists of subcommittees which include the realms of technology, finance, fundraising, merchandise, meet planning, community event planning, safe sport, and staffing.
