2025 Aqualaps - $55,583 of our $85,000 Goal

Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed in the 2025 Alaska Swimming State Champs this weekend! You all did amazing! I feel so fortunate that I was able to attend this event and watch all these great swimmers in action.

May 3rd - Aqualaps Swim Day! Please sign up for a time slot to commit your swimmer to their swimathon distance below. Please note, all elementary swimmers should be ready to swim by the start of their sign-up timeslot (between 7 – 7:30 a.m.), to ensure they have plenty of time to complete all their laps in our designated timeframe. This will also allow the younger kids to spend some time in the pool getting their laps in before the older kids start arriving and the lanes get a little more turbulent. Thank you for your help in getting the kids there on time!

All swimmers should bring someone (parent/guardian/etc.) to count their laps!! Please stay positive and encourage your swimmer during this big swimathon! They have been working hard and are ready for this big swim day. Remember, you are there to help cheer them on along the way! They are strong and they can do this! It is ok to take breaks along the way too. This is NOT a race.

1 Lap = 1 Length = 25 yards

  • Coho 75 lengths (1,875 yds. / 1.07 miles!)
  • Sockeye 125 lengths (3,125 yds. / 1.77 miles!)
  • Sealion 150 lengths (3,750 yds. / 2.13 miles!)
  • Chinook 175 lengths (4,375 yds. / 2.48 miles!)
  • Shark 200 lengths (5,000 yds. / 2.84 miles!)
  • Orca 250 lengths (6,250 yds. / 3.55 miles!)

We still need volunteers for the Swim Sign-in table for the Aqualaps Swim Day, this Saturday! Please sign up on the event page.

This week is GSC’s Spring Break. NO PRACTICES or Pledge Collectors all this week.

The deadline to turn in all Pledge Collections is this Saturday, May 3rd. When you sign your swimmer in, please be prepared to submit any remaining donations you have received.   • May 17 – 6:30 – 9:00 Aqualaps Swim Makeup Day – Swimmers may also swim their laps at any pool (pool entry fee required).
