Head Coach Meg O'Brien 
 

Coach Meg started swimming for the Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN in sixth grade and continued there throughout high school. She then swam DIII for Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. During her time a Hollins, Meg was team caption, named student athlete of the week every year from 2011-2015, and received an ODAC Honorable Mention for January 2015. She also placed top 16 all 4 years in the Old Dominion Athletic Confrence Swim Championships. After receiving her bachelor's degree, she went on to Mary Baldwin University to receive her Masters of Business Administration in 2021. Meg moved to Maricopa in 2021 and started coaching swim in Fall 2022 for Maricopa High School. From being on the same pool deck, she started coaching for the Arizona Seals in Fall 2024.

Her passion for swimming goes beyond the pool as she also competes herself in open water swimming, U.S. Masters swimming and Grown-Up swimming in her free time. She is married and enjoys spending time with her multiple dogs.

 
    
  Coach Connor Schrader 
Coach Connor is an Arizona Seal alumni with more than 7 years of competitive swimming under his belt. During his career, Connor represented the Arizona Seals at multiple Arizona State and Sectional swim meets. Connor is a graduate of Maricopa High School. Prior to coaching for the Seals, Connor coached the City of Maricopa Recreation team for 2 years. Connor is a Certified Lifeguard and is currently attending Grand Canyon University.

When not coaching, Connor enjoys time with family and friends. 

 

    

   Swim/Dry Land Coach Sarah Armstrong 

 

Coach Sarah joined the Arizona Seals Swimming Academy in March 2020, as the team’s Dry Land Coach. She was born and raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Coach Sarah began competitive swimming at the age of 8; in both an Olympic size pool and with her local Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC).  She was Age Group Swimming Champion from 8th-12th grades and competed at Local and Regional levels.  Coach Sarah’s favorite still water events include: 50m free, 100m free, 100m Fly and 200m IM. In the ocean, she competed in all events, but her top 3 were: the Surf Race, Board Rescue and Ironwoman. She also represented her SLSC at the Local, State and National levels. 

In 2000, Coach Sarah moved to Bahrain to fulfill her dream of becoming a world class flight attendant for Gulf Air. During her time in the Middle East, she was fortunate to travel the world and eventually meet her husband, who was serving in the US Navy. After starting a family in 2007, Coach Sarah returned to college and earned her associate degree from Central Arizona College in 2016 and completed her Certified Group Fitness Trainer certification in 2021.

Coach Sarah’s passion for health and fitness has always been at the forefront of her mind.  She enjoys coaching and mentoring our teams’ swimmers to be the best they can be in and out of the water. Her philosophy is that all should have fun working out while achieving their personal goals. Having been an athlete, she understands the importance of dry land fitness and how it can improve a swimmer’s physical/mental strength, flexibility, and speed in the water. 

 When not coaching, she works her full-time job as a School Receptionist and enjoys traveling, shopping, catching up with friends, playing sports and spending quality time with her husband and 3 children. 

 

Coach Alannah Flores
 

Coach Alannah is an Arizona Seals alumna, swimming with the Seals from 2018-2022. She was part of the Maricopa High School swim team for all 4 years, until she graduated in 2025, when she became the girls' captain. Overall, she has almost 7 years of competitive swimming experience, specializing in the butterfly stroke. She began coaching the Rising group in the summer of 2025. Currently, she is pursuing a degree in Medical Studies at Arizona State University. In her free time, she stays active by competing in ballroom competitions representing her university.

 

 

Coach Connor Baker
 

Coach Connor is a veteran swimmer with 11 years of competitive swimming experience. He is an NW Indiana native who moved to Maricopa, AZ in August of 2025. His swimming career began in the 4th grade swimming for the Michigan City Piranha’s swim club which lead him to swim varsity all four years at Michigan City High school. Connor would then commit to Wabash College in which he swam at the collegiate level for two years before transferring to Purdue University to finish his education. Connor also swam 4 years with Irish Aquatics out of Notre Dame that spanned his junior and senior years of high school and time in college.

Accolades achieved include multiple Indiana State Championship appearances at the club and high school level, two high school records, Speedo Sectionals (LCM) qualification, Wabash College Freshmen record holder, NCAA DIII All-American, and Four Top-15 national rankings his freshmen year of college. Main events included: 500free, 400IM and the mile.

When not coaching, Connor enjoys hiking, reading and spending time with his Border Collie and family.
