Interested in Joining the Burlington Aquatic Devilrays?

The Burlington Aquatic Devilrays (BAD) have three swim programs; Pre-Competitive (Mini Rays & Splash Rays),  Development (Novice & Junior) and Competitive (Intermediate and Senior).

Any swimmer interested in joining BAD, must attend a tryout to be assessed by the Head Coach for appropriate group placement.  Swimmers aged 9 and under, must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted, without stopping, to be assessed for our Pre-Competitive program (Learn2Swim & FUNdamentals).  Swimmers aged 10+, will be asked to swim 25 meters of freestyle and backstroke, they may also be asked to perform breaststroke and/or butterfly. 

To be eligible for our Competitive Swim Groups (Senior and Intermediate), swimmers must have competitive swimming experience. 

Tryout Information: 

At this time tryouts are on hold until the start of our next season.  We will be running our next set of Tryouts in mid to late September Pre-Competitive Groups.  

To be eligible for a Tryout for Mini Rays Learn2Swim or Splash Rays FUNdamentals, swimmers should be 8 & under and capable of swimming 25m unassisted.  

Our Development and Competitive Programs are almost at capacity.  Swimmers with previous competitive swimming experience will be eligible for a tryout for a spot in our Development or Competitive Programs, provided there is space in the program.

To be eligible for our Novice Program (11 & under) and Junior Program (12 & under), swimmers will be asked to swim all four strokes and demonstrate good technique and breathing skills.

To be eligible for our Senior and Intermediate Programs, swimmers must have competitive swimming experience and should be able to demonstrate some endurance and technique for all four strokes.

Our Membership Registrar will ONLY CONTACT THOSE THAT MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for groups with availible space. 

If your child is looking to tryout for a group that currently has no availibility you will automatically be placed on a waitlist.  

Please understand that we get many tryout requests, and unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate a tryout for all those that have completed this form.
