Distance Time Trial in FSJ
The club hosted its very first sanctioned event for the 2022-203 season on Saturday February 25th, where our Juniors, Intermediates, Senior and National kids raced one distance event each.
Juniors raced the 200 free, Intermediates raced the 400 free and the Senior/National raced the 800 free.
The Time Trial was also a great team event for the club:
The morning started with a 40 minute warm up, where each group dedicated their time to prepare for the races. After races were done, all groups did a TEAM cool down, where they all did the same set for about 30 minutes. It is not often where swimmers from different groups are together in the water doing the same thing, so that was something that was really nice to see. After the team cool down, swimmers headed to a meeting room where they had breakfast together and a chat with the coaches about what being a competitve swimmer is all about. This chat was focused on the struggles, the main reasons why athlete's need to stick to the sport, how difficulties happen to everyone no matter how experienced the person or swimmer is, and how sucess needs to be viewed and what success is all about.
It was a long productive morning for everyone and we are looking forward to continuing bulding dynamics like this wehere the club works together and progresses together, supporting each other on daily activities.
