2024 J.P. Fiset Invitational
This past weekend the Inconnu Swim club sent 9 swimmers to Edmonton, AB for the 50th anniversary of the J.P. Fiset Invitational.
“Every one of our Inconnu swimmers saw solid improvements in their personal best times and raced strongly and fiercely against a large body of competition”, said Coach Anton Titov, "our swimmers had a wonderful showing throughout the 4-day swim meet.”
The start of the marathon weekend saw Leo Rossi (12) in the first event; the 800 m freestyle. Not only did Rossi shave off a whopping 19 seconds from the 32 length race he also placed second overall in his age group.
Titov also highlighted Lane Stahl (13) and Elias Stirling (13) for continuing their dramatic time drops in the 200 m butterfly and 200 m individual medley.
Ryder Modde (15) qualified for the BC Provincial Championships, being held in Victoria, BC in March 2025, in his 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:09.76. Modde entered the race with a time of 1:13.80 and dropped four seconds to smash the qualifying time (1:11.30). This is Modde’s first 15-16 short course provincial qualifying time, and he’s looking to add more.
The other inconnu swimmers attending included Brice Bellamy (13), Quinn McQue (13), Jorge Torres (15), Ainsley Ross (15), Amelia Ross (12).
The Inconnu Swim club will still be in the water until December 20th and then will take a well deserved break until January 6, 2025. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
