BC Provincials Recap

Nadine Stirling

Fort St. John Inconnu Swim Club is delighted in congratulating Leonardo Rossi on his success while making his debut in participating at British Columbia Winter Provincial Championships 2025 held at Victoria Saanich Commonwealth Pool from March 6 to 9 and hosted by Island Swimming Club!

Leo participated in the Boys 12&U age category swimming the 800 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle events.

Outside of impressive time drops, Leo’s resilience and calm focused mindset that belies his age led to a 4th place finish in the 800, 7th in the 100 freestyle and 10th in the 100 breaststroke disciplines at the Province’s premier competition.

In the 200 and the 400 freestyle events, however, Leo’s determination and fighting spirit brought home two Silver medals!

Swimming a total of 9 times over the course of the 4 days, the competition will undoubtedly serve as an excellent platform for the swimming career of this talented young athlete.

The meet provided truly memorable moments that will absolutely spur the rest of the club on as they are heading off into the championship segment of the 2024-2025 season.

Please join us again in congratulating Leo and in wishing the entire club all of the successes they are aiming for now and in the future!
