Fort St. John Inconnu Swim Club is happy to announce the club’s successful participation at the annual Grande Prairie Northern Lights Invitational!

Travelling with 31 swimmers the team has seen each of its athletes achieve at least one personal best time in an event and score points with most seeing serious drops in virtually every swim that was had.

The meet held at the beautiful Eastlink Sports Complex is seen as the crucial stepping stone for the team that is gathering momentum heading into the championship phase of the gruelling 2024-2025 campaign.

Special mention goes out to athletes Lane Stahl, Sydney Carew, Sophie Driedger, William Greenwood, Elias Stirling, and Enzo Rossi for their resilient performances with some of the athletes swimming at their very first Long Course competition.

The boys’ have finished 3rd in standings despite having some if its leading swimmers opt out of swimming on the last day due to illness.

The team overall have finished in 5th spot out of 8 participating clubs and are clearly demonstrating an upward trajectory that left the Head Coach of the club Anton Titov especially pleased upon the meet’s conclusion.

The next building block will be held right at home in Fort St. John for the annual Spring Splash Invitational where the hope is the team will add more athletes to its roster heading off to Kelowna at the end of June for the BC Divisional Trials followed by the BC Provincial Summer Provincial Championships concluding the season at the end of July.
