Fast track into Fall 2025
On behalf of Fort St John Inconnu Swim Club, I am delighted in joining others in congratulating the team on an outstanding opening competition of the season!
Travelling to Grande Prairie with a team of 35 athletes, the Inconnu swimmers showed great resolve and determination in securing a Second place overall in team standings behind the hosts GPP who have had over 120 competing athletes!
From top to bottom Inconnu swimmers seen massive Personal Bests achieved in virtually every event swam (competition rules limited each swimmer to 8 swims over the weekend), totalling 130 top 8 finishes and seeing 5 swimmers qualify for the elimination skins event at the end of the meet!
Team unity and cohesion was already on display despite the squad being back in the water only since October 5, and the performance of new incoming coach Tim Novytski was thoroughly excellent as his group of athletes felt the comfort and support needed with others looking to Tim for guidance and assistance throughout the duration of the meet.
The team saw several more athletes qualify for the BC Divisional Championships and will be looking to thoroughly build on that number from all competitive athletes registered at the club going forward. Furthermore, Lane Stahl, the most “senior” member of the travelling squad at just 14 years of age saw incredible improvements in all of his swims notably dropping 2.7 seconds on a 100m freestyle event that saw him finish with a 57.33 result, adding another qualifying event to his BC Senior Provincial repertoire. Newcomer to the team Ethan Gold, who is just 11, led the team in amassing a staggering 148 points overall, finishing his tally at 4 Gold and 4 Silver medals for Inconnu!
A heartfelt congratulations to all of the swimmers and their families!
The team will now be shifting its focus to hosting the Sadownik Memorial Competition at our home pool where hopefully everyone is excited to continue building on this early success!
Let’s go Inconnu!
