GHAC Nov 19 Colour Meet

Coach Colleen

On Nov 19 GHAC hosted our first Color meet.  We divided our swimmers into 4 teams – Blue, Pink, Purple and Blue.  The goal of the meet was to foster team bonding by having the senior swimmers team up with our up and coming swimmers; to encourage them, and show them how much fun swim meets are.

Amid the loud cheering, and a few tears, we had some fantastic swims.  Here are some of the highlights (based on unofficial meet results):

Blue team:

  • 82 total swims, 23 were first time attempts, 34 best times
  • Emma Moore and Christian Costa had rookie appearance in all of their 3 events
  • Lilian Bowe, Anna Yanover, Enye Elbard-Berkovski and Morgan Chrysler had 100% best times in 3 events
  • Antonio Fricano, Ellery Alden, Adelyn Van Kampen, Taylor Medves and Vienna McNamara had 2 best times and 1 new time, for 13 points each.  Emma Wang and Mia McLeod had 1 best time and 2 new times for 11 points each.

WONDERFUL!!!

At the end of the day, GHAC’s goal is to foster love of the sport.  We hope all the swimmers had fun.

All of our competitive swimmers are working hard to qualify for different levels of meets, so it is with pleasure that we share with you some qualification times that were met at this meet.  For some swimmers, this may be for their weaker events or they have aged up to a higher qualifying time…but for some it is their first time qualifying.

“Congratulations”
