GHAC Olympic Stream athletes make waves at ManSask in Winnipeg!
Lead by veteran leaders Emerson, Matt, Owen, and Xander 20 Olympic stream swimmers ranging in ages from 10-18 flew to Winnipeg for the 4-day meet.
Our team of 20 scored a total of 757.5 points which earned us 5th place out of 24 teams!
The team had 8 swimmers participating in team travel for the first time including:

The meet was full of great swims, best times, new championship qualifications, and most importantly a lot of fun!
Our youngest team member Cammy T. (10) brought lots of energy and had a best time in the 50m Backstroke.
Victoria L. (11) competed in her first prelim and final meet and qualified for finals in the 200m Breaststroke, 400m Freestyle, and 100m Breaststroke!
Annika F. qualified for the Ontario Swimming Championships in the 50m Freestyle in a time of 28.21!
Magnus L. also qualified for the Ontario Swimming Championships in 50m, 100m, 200m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly.
Senior Performance group member Brady Macpherson Lewison set 2 new GHAC Club Records in the 16-Year-Old Mens 50m & 100m Butterfly with times of 25.26 and 57.52 respectively, beating the previous club records held since 2018! With those times Brady also qualified for Canadian Olympic Trials.
ManSask was the last club meet for graduating students Matt L., Owen S., and Xander R.P..
Matt L. wrapped up his 7-year tenure with GHAC with two personal best times! We wish Matt the best of luck in his swimming career as he moves on to the University of Guelph.
Xander R.P. has been with the club since 2018 and caped off his amazing swimming career with 3 best times! We wish Xander the best of luck as he moves on to post-secondary where he will study Engineering & Finance at the University of Waterloo.
89 Competitions and 8 years later Owen S. capped off his amazing age group career with multiple seasons' best times. Over the years Owen worked his way up through the different levels of competition including Regionals, Festivals, Provincials, and Eastern Canadian Nationals! His swimming achievements earned him a scholarship to Niagara University in Lewiston, NY! We wish him the best of luck as he continues his swimming career as a student-athlete at Niagara University!
Our GHAC family is very proud of all of the athletes that participated!
Our next team travel is scheduled for March 9-19 for training camp in Plantation, Florida! We look forward to seeing lots of swimmers participate.
