GHAC Paralympic Stream Swimmers at Ontario Swim Championships

Coach Colleen

Wow!! GHAC had an entire weekend of fast swimming at the 2023 Ontario Swimming Championships hosted July 6-9 at the Toronto Pan Am sports center!

GHAC was represented by our 5 Paralympic stream swimmers Antonio, Charlie, Melinda, Nicholas and Sumbul. There were 69 clubs in attendance and our small 5-swimmer team earned 311.50 points enough to earn a 20th-place finish. We even finished with 7 medals: 4 Silver and 3 Bronze!

Each swimmer had a ton of personal victories including lots of best times.

As a team GHAC had over 20 new best times!

Antonio and Charlie both qualified for Canadian Swim Championships for the first time and are looking forward to this next level of competition.

Melinda also qualified to Eastern Canadian Championships in multiple events including the 50, 100 and 200 free!

Sum had several best times and made huge progress in swimming the 100 Fly!

Nicholas had GHAC’s biggest time drop of 22 seconds in the 200 Free and had 100% Best times!

All swimmers participated in the inaugural Swim Ontario Para relays which provided a great team-building opportunity! These relays helped develop new friendships and demonstrated the strength of the para community.

Sumbul, Charlie and Antonio are preparing for their next competition on August 1st-6th at the Canadian Swimming Championships hosted at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Center

Our GHAC family is so proud of everything these swimmers have accomplished!
