High-Performance Swimmers End 22/23 Season with Success at Canadian Swimming Championships!

GHAC was represented by 5 swimmers at the 2023 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships in Toronto, August 1-6.  The Canadian Swimming Championships is the second highest level of national competition, next to Canadian Olympic/Paralympic Trials.

Our team consisted of 2 Olympic Stream athletes Brady M.L. and Magnus L., and 3 Paralympic Stream athletes, Antonio F.,  Charlie G., and Sum Z..

We are exceptionally proud of the fact that out of the 124 teams in attendance, we had the most Paralympic Stream athletes competing!

Brady M.L competed in 4 events and used the meet as a training/tune-up opportunity as he prepares for the World Aquatics Junior Championships in Israel where he will be representing the Jamaican Junior National Team!

For Magnus L. this was his first National Championship and he competed in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle. Magnus raced two personal best to cap off an outstanding season of growth!

Charlie G. swam 4 events and made finals at his first National Championships, an impressive feat! He achieved a best time in both the 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley!

Antonio F. also swam 4 events and made finals at his first National Championships! Antonio achieved a personal best in the 100 freestyle!

Sum Z. competed in both sprint freestyle events, the 50 and 100 freestyle. Like her Paralympic Stream counterparts, she also qualified for finals and did a best time in the 100 Freestyle.

Congratulations to all the athletes on a great season!
