2025 Western Regional Short Course Swim Meet Review

Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate Anthony Stuckless on his performances who raced at the 2025 Western Regional Short Course Championships this past weekend in London!!! Additionally, the club was hoping to be congratulating 10 of our masters swimmers on their performances in Burlington this past Sunday, but sadly due to the snowy weather we received the competition was cancelled.

This past weekend in London Anthony was racing against some of the best swimmers from across all of Southwestern Ontario at the 2025 Western Regional Short Course Championships.
Throughout the swim meet this past weekend Anthony had some positive results with multiple best times and top 8 performances in 6 of his 9 events! However, in Coach Mackenzie's opinion some of Anthony's biggest breakthroughs were away from the outcomes of his results with figuring out further technical elements of his breaststroke and how to better manage himself before each race to ensure that he could put forth his best effort no matter the turn around time between races (i.e. swimming the 100m butterfly final and then getting right back on the blocks 5mins later to swim the 400m IM final). Obviously during each swim meet there is always ups and downs, but Coach Mackenzie was impressed by Anthony’s resiliency to continue to get up on the blocks from one race to the next, particularly when things didn’t go as he might have hoped for.
Congratulations Anthony on your performances this past weekend and keep on working on the processes as they will end up taking care of your results for you!
The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to the London Aquatic Club and all of the other volunteer officials for helping to run this championship swim meet this past weekend!

And for our masters’ swimmers another excellent event in Etobicoke on Sunday, March 9th named the Swim For Heart where everyone will only be racing the 1500m long course and all money raised from the event will be donated to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Good luck to all of our age group as well as our masters’ swimmers who will be racing in a couple weeks time from now!!! Again, we know that all of you will do a wonderful job of representing the club, will make us all very proud with the performances that you throw down in the pool, and hope that you keep your training up leading into your respective competitions :)
Keep up the wonderful work everyone both in and out of the pool
