2025 Summer Ontario Swimming Championships Review

Wilder Stairs began racing this past Saturday in Scarborough at the 2025 Summer Ontario Swimming Championships. Again, this level of competition attracts the very best swimmers from all across Ontario as well as some swimmers from across Canada. Wilders was able to improve upon his 400m freestyle time from earlier in the long course season being about 7secs faster than what he swam in May and broke two club records in that very same 400m freestyle as he took down the club's 18-24-year-old record as well as the open 400m LC record. Overall Wilder was hoping to perform a little bit better in both his 200m butterfly and his 400m freestyle, but will continue to do what it takes over the summer season to get ready for a great 2025-2026 season - Congratulations Wilder on your record breaking performances this past weekend and keep up the great work that you are doing both in and out of the pool!
The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to Etobicoke Swim Club, Peterborough Swim Club, Whitby Swimming, Swim Ontario, and all of the volunteer officials for helping to run this excellent competition for all of the swimmers this past weekend!
- Wilder Stairs
- NEW CLUB RECORD HOLDER in the LC 400m Freestyle within both the MENS 18-24-year-old & OPEN categories!
Our club now looks forward to the 2025 Swim Ontario Open Water Championships being held in Gravenhurst where athletes two of our athletes will be competing (Jennifer Komorowski & Coach Mackenzie). Good luck to you both with your open water races on Saturday, July 26th, we know that you both will do outstanding!
