Georgian Bay Squall Ice & Water Swim Meet Review

Georgian Bay Squall Ice & Water Swim Meet Review

Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate Roland Plum one of our masters’ swimmers that raced this last Sunday, January 11th in Collingwood at the Georgian Bay Squall Ice & Water competition!!!
Roland Plum headed up to Collingwood for the Georgian Bay Squall Ice & Water Masters swim meet this past Sunday, January 11th where about 111 swimmers from all across Ontario hit the water to race. Overall, Roland was very pleased with his results as he ended up beating one of his times that he swam from almost 8 years ago in 2018... And was very close to performing all time best times at the young age of 65 years old! Roland credits much of his positive results to his participation in our clubs Christmas Break Technical Skills and Stroke Videoing Clinic. Roland conveyed to the coaching staff following the swim meet, they were successful in teaching an old dog some new tricks that certainly helped him swim much faster than anticipated to start 2026 off... And has left Roland very motivated to continue to improve his swimming techniques and skills moving forward.
Congratulations Roland on your performances this past weekend in Collingwood and our coaching staff is eagerly waiting to see what other breakthroughs you will experience next as you continue to move forward into future competitions :)
The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to the Georgian Bay Squall Masters Swim Team (GBS) and all of the volunteer officials for helping to run this excellent competition for all of the swimmers within our aquatic community this past weekend!
