2026 MAC Winter Long Course Invitational Swim Meet Review

Middlesex Admin

Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate our 2 Varsity swimmers Seamus Chan and Dominic Lee that raced at the 2026 MAC Winter Long Course Invitational this past weekend in Markham as they continue their pursuit to make Usports times and the men's Western swim team again!!!!

Both Seamus and Dominic starting racing this past Friday in Markham at the Markham Pan Am Centre (MPAC) and were able to make finals at the swim meet. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather (i.e. the big snow storm this past Sunday) they were not able to participate in finals on Sunday... But nevertheless Dominic was still able to achieve a personal best time in his 100m butterfly twice (once in prelims and again in finals) and Seamus was able to be within striking distance of his personal best times, as he made his return to racing for the 1st time since last fall, which was exceptional to see. Both Seamus and Dominic requalified in further events for the upcoming Ontario Age Group Championships in March at Scarborough and are continuing to look forward to the journey ahead as they get another step closer to achieving their end goals!

Congratulations on your performances this past weekend Seamus and Dominic and we look forward to seeing what you both are able to do next at future competitions :)

The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to the Markham Aquatic Club (MAC) and all of the volunteer officials for helping to run this excellent competition for our swimmers this past weekend! Additionally, the club would like to sincerely thank Eddie and Guillermo Toro from the North York Aquatic Club (Dominic's home coach's) for being Seamus's and Dominic's coaches at this competition, so that both young men can continue their individual pursuit's of making Usport times and the Men's Western Swimming Team again.
