USA Meets Require Additional Entry Fees to Participate

A Sands Sailfish Coach will only attend USS meets if 8 or more Sailfish swimmers attend in the same session or if the meet is a Championship. An additional $1.00 surcharge will be charged on each event of each swimmer attending a USA Meet with a Sailfish Coach in attendance. Other USS meets are available throughout the year in a variety of formats but all with entry fees. Please see the USS meet Schedule or go to niagaraswim.org for more information. USS meet sign ups are approximately 2 weeks before the meet. YMCA League dual meet sign ups are the Wednesday before the meet on Saturday.

Meet Rules

1.     All Swimmers must be registered with Sands Sailfish no later than December 1, 2007 to attend YMCA States and YMCA Nationals. 

2.     To participate in any meets, Sailfish team fees and registration paperwork must be current.

3.    To compete in YMCA Districts, YMCA States and YMCA Nationals, swimmers MUST compete in a minimum of 3 YMCA League. Meets.  YMCA League meets are in bold. 

4.    Swimmers in YMCA League meets are required to stay for the entire meet. ONLY Varsity/Modified Swimmer in season can leave after participation in two point scoring events (not exhibition events). For eligibility for meet participation awards, swimmers must attend the entire meet.

5.    To compete in YMCA Nationals swimmers must compete in YMCA States.

6.   To compete in USA Swimming JO’s, Zones, or Districts, Nationals swimmers must qualify in USA Swimming meets only or pay possible penalties if times are not achieved.
