Certification Information for Officials:

If you are interested in becoming a certified official , please check out the Swimming Canada website for more info on the certification process at https://www.swimming.ca/content/uploads/2022/09/Officials-Certification-Pathway-September-2022.pdf

There are a number of courses available online through the Swim Canada website at https://www.swimming.ca/en/clinics/. Please make sure to login to your official's account with Swimming Canada prior to starting the course. https://edu.swimming.ca/login.php

It is your responsibility to document and report the courses and job shadowing that you have completed and forward them on to our Club Administrator, so that your qualifications can be kept up to date on Swim Canada's Officials Database.

A message from our team's Chair of Officials:

Becoming an official on deck is a great opportunity to become involved in your child's sport and meet fellow parents from not only our club but the entire region. It is not a scary process as everyone on deck is there for the sole purpose of putting on a successful event for the swimmers to take part in. 

The best part of volunteering as an official is that you get the best seats in the house!! No being crammed in the viewing area! Instead you get a great spot to watch the races while being fed lunch on top of it all.

Once you are set up you will receive an email with your login and password information.  

With this information you’ll be able to sign up and take various courses to help you become certified to volunteer on deck. 

It is most recommended to take: Introduction to Swimming Officiating and the Safety Marshall Clinics. There are online versions available if attending a hosted clinic does not work with your schedule.

Being a timer on deck is a GREAT way to get started on deck. You're never by yourself and cannot mess it up!!
