Swim Like the Dickens 12/6-7/25
Well, like most years, the weather was cold. Though it was a lot dryer than I remember in past years. Marlins were represented by two swimmers, JJ & Axel, who swam both days. Both swimmers had first races, JJ in the 200 Free and Axel in the 200 IM. It was so great to see them swim out of their comfort events and do an amazing job.
On Saturday, JJ competed in 100 free, 100, back and 50 Fly. His best event was the 100 free taking off over a second off his previous time. Though his 100 back & 50 Fly were right on. Axel did the 50 Breast & 200 IM. His best event was the 200 IM looking good in all 4 strokes as he made his way though the event. His 50 Breast was off, however the stroke was there. I think the time added was more from the dive and turn.
On Sunday, JJ had 200 Free, 50 Free, and 50 Back. He did take a second off his 50 back, but I really enjoyed the 200 Free. He stayed strong throughout. Axel swam the 50 Free on Sunday.
Managing the cold and having strong swims is a feat in it’s own. That was a wrap for our USA swim meets for Fall session. Now on to Winter.
