Dave's Notes 8-15

Couple of things

1) First of all, I'm looking forward to a new season beginning on Monday. I hope everyone is enjoying the break, as well as anticipating the return to the pool. The August schedule is posted on the team website under the "schedule" tab.

2) IMPORTANT: We are in need to renew our team's Safe-Sport designation with USA swimming. The final step is to get families to take the safe sport class for parents. We are in jeopardy of being fined for not having the Safe-Sport designation as well as not being able to host meets in the future.

I am asking that the parents please take the time to take the following online course as this is the last step in getting our Safe-Sport clearance.

Thank you in advance.

https://university.usaswimming.org/landing    then click on the Parents/volunteers tab, and then click the SSRP button, then click on the parents guide to misconduct in sport and start the class.

3) Finally I need to announce that coach Raven will not be returning to coach with CAST this fall. Coach Raven has been with the team for the past 3 years and has played a key role in the development of many of your swimmers. I will be figuring out the path forward for the Junior group over the next couple weeks. Initially I plan on coaching her swimmers, possibly with the help of an assistant (since I will also have the AG group at that time). Within a few weeks, I will have figured out what adjustments to team levels will take place for the fall.

Here is a note from coach Raven: It is with a heavy heart that I share my time as a coach here has come to an end. Coaching these athletes and working alongside their families has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I've cared deeply for each of them, and it's been an honor to watch their growth on and off the pool deck. While my role is ending, my support for their athletic journeys will continue, and I'll always cherish the memories we've built together. I wish each of them the very best in their future endeavors. - Raven

See you at the pool! - Coach Dave
