Notes for the week
Thursday is the Swim-O-Rama where after some stretching and instructions time, swimmers have an hour to swim as many lengths as possible. SR and SD 4:15 - 5:45PM and AG JR and N 5:30 - 7:00 PM (note this is an early start time for these groups). There is no "regular" practice. Even if you are new to the team and are not required to raise funds, we encourage all swimmers to come in and see how many lengths of the pool they can swim in an hour.
The Swim-O-Rama is our annual swimming fundraiser. Swimmers swim lengths of the pool and solicit donations for their effort. Swimmers will have 60 minutes to swim as many lengths as possible (200 max. ).
Families with one swimmer are required to raise a minimum of $200. Families with 2 or more swimmers are required to raise a minimum $300. If you just joined the team after June 15th, you are exempt from the requirement, however we would greatly appreciate your participation.
We have prizes that can be earned by just swimming , as well as prizes for bringing in certain amounts, as well as 3 top prizes for the top $ earners.
All money and donations are due by Sept 30th. Money turned in after this date will not count toward prizes. Prizes will be awarded on 10-6 at practice.
Letter to seek donations from friends and familiy
We need parents to help count swimmers lengths. We have counting sheets, clipboards and pencils/pens for this. If you can come in and count, please bring a folding chair.
What if it rains on Thursday?
It is supposed to rain off and on on Thursday, unless there is lightning, we will swim (current forecast is for .13 inches in the evening). We do have canopies to keep parents dry.
Swim Caps
The deadline for ordering team caps with swimmers names is WEdnesday. You can order here. It is likely we will not do another "caps with names" order until March. You may buy regular CAST caps from coach Dave at any time at practice $5 latex cap / $18 for silicone cap.
Team Suit
The new team suit is the Speedo "flow" (blue and green) suit. Although we understand it will take a while for all swimmers to get these new suits, we hope that all swimmers will begin to buy them. Swimmers feel more a part of the team when they have a team suit, especially at meets. For those who have the previous team suit and don't yet have the new one, please continue to wear it at meets until you get the new suit. If you don't have a either and are attending the meet this weekend, don't worry, just wear what you have - but again please consider getting one soon.
