Meet Overview:
36 meet attendees.
12 first time swimmers at a USA Swimming sanctioned meet.
60 events swam for the first time.
82% best times.
Saturday’s meet was an overwhelming success. With just four weeks of training, and a couple of days off, our swimmers came and exceeded expectations.
Meet Attendance
Our team shattered the previous meet attendance record of 26 kids, with a total showing of 36 kids! 12 of our 36 meet attendees swam in a USA Swimming meet for the first time this weekend. I hope this number continues to grow. Meet attendance allows your coaches and swimmers to be able to measure progress. It is also the perfect opportunity for your child to bond with the team, and to make lifelong friends.
Performance
As I have said in previous emails, the beginning of the season is an opportunity to take risks and to make changes. Ace Aquatics did this exceptionally well, and it paid off. Swimmers made technique changes, set goals, and followed through with those plans. Focusing on the process versus on the outcome led our team to an astounding 82% best times. To put this in perspective, I looked at the 13 & Over 100 Yard Free. Our team had 92.9% best times in this event. This event had an average of 67.5% best times across all athletes that attending this meet. Our rate of best times is over 25% higher in the 100 free than the average athlete this past weekend.
I am so impressed with how far you all have come in the first four weeks of the season. Continue to focus on the process and understand that your long-term goals will take big changes to accomplish.
